Kythera Island on Google Maps.
The mountainous island of Kythera, is situated between the Peloponnese and the island of Crete, has always been the gateway to the Aegean Sea. From here, still today, many merchant ships and cruise ships transiting, but there are few boats that stop at the island. A ferry connects the island with the port of Piraeus (near Athens) and it is only few years that tourists have discovered this green and rocky island. An island to visit during the spring season when nature awakens and explodes in thousand of colors. Deserted beaches, excellent restaurants, small and hospitable countries and clean sea, are the things that attract more and more tourists on the Island. A nice journey to do out of season.
