Mount Seguret on Google Maps.
With its massive pyramid shape with high rocky walls overhanging the valley and huge caves and gorges generated by the erosion of water and frost, Mount Seguret (2.926 m) is one of the most famous mountains of the high Susa Valley. Visible almost at 360° from the valleys below and from famous tourist places such as Oulx, Sauze d'Oulx, Cesana, San Sicario and many others, the excursion to Mount Seguret allows to discover places and absolutely unique landscapes such as the remains of barracks and the fort of Pramand, the Saracen Gallery built by the military at the beginning of the nineteenth century to link the forts of Exilles, Jafferau and Foens with a road that is still viable at today. Climb on the gravelly slopes of Mount Seguret is not easy but a well-traced path allows you to safely reach the top of the mountain from which you can see the spectacular landscape surrounding the Seguret as group of glaciers of Les Ecrins, Mount Chaberton with its unmistakable flat peak and segmented by the towers of a large and important fortress, the Rocciamelone that dominates Susa, the Albergian massif and, at a distance Monte Viso, the mountain from which the Po river born, the most important in Italy.
