The lakes in winter are surrounded by peaceful, muffled atmospheres, with the colors faded by fogs that sometimes cover the calm lake waters, but also take on a particular charm that attracts those who want to spend few days of vacation in an environment at times fascinating and unusual. Maggiore lake is one of those lakes that allows holidays not only for rest but also for discovery by visiting the numerous nearby lakes such as Orta lake with villages hidden in the green hills such as Ameno or ancient villages such as Orta. Lake Maggiore, which for a stretch borders on nearby Switzerland, together with Como and Garda lakes, are among the destinations chosen to spend Christmas holidays by many Italians but also by many foreigners in search of good food and good wine. A trip that also pleases sportsmen given the possibility of practicing outdoor sports such as bike rides, windsurfing, water sports and long walks in the mountains overlooking the lakes.
