The Greek island of Naxos is one of the largest in Cyclades archipelago. The citadel of the capital, called Naxos, located on the top of the hill overlooking the port, is one of the most interesting of the island. Among the maze of narrow alleys between the white houses of the village built around the ancient Kastro (Castle), unexpected small squares open almost always occupied by tables of the little restaurants always crowded of tourists. Along with the ancient village, in front of the hill, starts the narrow isthmus of land that connects the coast with the small islands where the ruins of the temple of Apollo are located. The large stone portal welcomes, as millennia ago, sailors who reach the island from the other islands of the archipelago. An island for tourists in search of the history of ancient Greece.
