Heraklia island on Google Maps
The small island of Hiraklia or Irakleia (7 km long by 4.5 km wide) is one of the least inhabited islands of the Cyclades archipelago in the Aegean Sea. On the island there is only one village, Kato Horio where there is the docking port of the ferries that connect Heraklia to the rest of the archipelago. Livadhi beach on the east coast is the busiest of the few tourists who frequent the island. An oasis of peace just a few hours by boat from the chaotic and crowded city of Athens. The rest of the island is rugged and mountainous with steep cliffs that drop into a beautiful sea of crystal clear waters. An island for those who want to spend a peaceful holiday in harmony with the sea and the nature of the island.
