A journey of 40 days by bus,train and bicycle to see a country which was place of a terrible conflict that marked forever the memories and soul of many generations. Today Viet Nam, a thin strip of forest that overlooks the South China Sea, is still crossed by only one main road, the famous N1 linking Hanoi with Ho Chi Minh City formerly known as Saigon. A journey on the N1 to see the change of an entire nation. Along this road you meet reality very different as the mining area on the border with China, where the coal is still worked by hand with ancient methods, areas of the highlands where live people with costumes, stories and cultures very different, the vast agricultural areas and modern cities in constant growth. A country poised between ancient and modern that grows rapidly. A country that lives between past and future but with a population friendly, hospitable and kind. This is the Viet Nam saw with the camera of Luca Rinaldini.
