Port Cros Island on Google Maps.
Home of the Port-Cros National Park since 1963, the island is an oasis of nature in front of the French Riviera. About an hour's ferry from the port of Hyères, Port Cros rises from the sea up to about 200 meters in height and is clearly visible from the coast along with the other major islands of the archipelago such as Porquerolles and the island of Levant. Covered with dense forests of maritime pines, eucalyptus and palms, Port Cros is a destination for nature tourism. Dozens of well-marked path allow the complete tour of the island passing near the rocky cliffs up to reach the small beaches and the quiet bays for beautiful moments of bathing and sunny relaxing. Finally, in the restaurants of the island, it is possible to taste wines and typical Provencal dishes as well as excellent fish caught directly in the waters of the island. A destination for tourists keen on trekking and nature.
