Kythnos island on Google Maps.
An island on the edge of the Western Cyclades archipelago, the island is a quiet island with a few fishing villages and local traditions not yet "polluted" by mass tourism but frequented by tourists looking for tranquility, walks in the hills or on Mount Kakovolo, the highest mountain of the island, and sunny days on one of the 90 fine sandy beaches, many of which are difficult to access from land for sunbathing and sea bathing in complete tranquility. The local cuisine is based on fish and vegetable dishes with very rich and abundant salads. A trip to Kythnos is like going back to the past in a Greece island among fishermen, farmers and shepherds with simple and very quiet rhythms of life.
