Where is Sanganeb Reef
Article.
An obligatory stop during the cruises in the Sudan Red Sea, is the reef of Sanganeb famous not only for its extension, one of the largest you'll encounter along the coast, but also for the presence of an important lighthouse. On the route of Port Sudan, the first tower to signal the presence of dangerous reef was built by the British in 1906. With the increase of trade and the expansion of Port Sudan, the British built a trellis largest iron which was replaced in 1955 with a circular tower of stone. High 54,30 m and a base diameter of 10 m, is one of the most important lighthouses for navigation in the Red Sea. The large Sanganeb reef is also important for scuba diving because it has two interesting sites: the southern tip and the northern tip where you can see, in addition to a rich reef overgrown with coral, reef fish and big pelagic fish as the hammerhead sharks.
