After viewing the ancient citadel in Amman, the capital of Jordan, and the archaeological site of Jerash with the ruins of a Roman town, the journey to the discovery the Jordan country, continues along the cliff of salt of the Dead Sea.
The Dead Sea, a deep depression in the desert (400 m below sea level) filled by the waters of the Jordan River and other several tributaries, is a lake of 76 km long and 17 km wide.
Thanks the high temperatures, evaporation causes the continuous increase in salinity, an amount so high in salts carried by the rivers which prevents the development of any form of life creating precisely the Dead Sea.
One of these tributaries is the Wadi Mujib whose waters have, over the centuries, carved the soft rocks of the desert creating a deep canyon.
Today, the Mujib Canyon is one of the most visited places in the Dead Sea area.
Through guided trails that allow you to go up the canyon, is possible see unforgettable panoramas and glimpses of incredible beauty.
