The journey to discovery the Lagoon of Nouméa, start from the capital of the archipelago. Boarded the catamaran moored at the Marina in the Orphelinat Bay, the journey to discover the lagoon begins passing near the island of Maitre where is the great Escape Resort for then continue to reach the uninhabited island of Goelands for a refreshment stop. After a dip in the waters of the lagoon and a quick lunch, it starts the trip to the island where is the lighthouse of Amedée located about 27 miles from Noumea. The lighthouse, is an iron lighthouse located on Amédée Island. Built in 1862 in Paris, was then dismantled and rebuilt on the island of New Caledonia in 1865. With 56 m tall and 247 steps, it is one of the tallest lighthouses in the world and it was the first metallic lighthouse constructed in France. Today, the Amédée lighthouse, reports to mariners in the Pacific Ocean, access to the lagoon and the right route to the port of Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia.
