Thanks to Sandro Bottazzi who gave us permission to publish unpublished images find in the attic of his great-uncle, wtreportage is pleased to present to its followers, a journey in the past when Edmondo Bernacchi went around the world for tourism. At the time there were no airliners, computers, internet, tour operators and travel agencies. There was only the cablegram, the phone was limited and air flights were in their infancy. To organize a journey around the world with booking hotels, tickets and visas was something almost impossible for ambassadors and politicians, let alone for a "tourist". But Edmondo Bernacchi and his friend A.F. Villa, succeeded in the enterprise and the January 1914 depart from Turin to re-enter more than a year later with a baggage of experience and unique memories for that time. This first reportage describes, with pictures of the time taken by Edmondo Bernacchi, the stretch of the trip to China. A China really difficult to recognize than we know today.
