Grindelwald, in the Bernese Alps, is the starting point to discover some of the world's most famous alpine scenery such as the towering peaks of the Wetterhorn (3692 m), Eiger (3970 m), Monch (4105 m) and Jungfrau (4158 m), four peaks that have become legendary in the world of mountaineering. Thanks to a railway network with small trains, it is possible to reach famous ski resorts like Grindelwald, Kleine Scheidegg, Wengen and Murren. In winter, skiers can leave their cars in Grindelwald and by train, reach the station of Kleine Scheidegg, starting point for the ski slopes of Lauterbrunnen get off at Grindelwald or Wengen by the famous track free downhill, one of the longest and most challenging of the World Cup ski. From Kleine Scheidegg, there is also the train that reaches the pass of Jungfraujoch at 3471 m situated between Mount Monch and Mount Jungfrau. This railway station, the highest in Europe and called by many tourists who come from all over the world the "Top of the Europe" is a spectacular railway along 9 km of which 7.5 km excavated in rock of the mountains Eiger and Monch between the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. The train makes two stops that allow tourists to observe the spectacular north face of the Eiger and a glacier. At the top and reached the observatory through the tunnels dug into the glacier, we observe the spectacular glacier of Aletsch, one of the largest in Europe.
