Uluru and Kata Tjuta on Google Maps
At about 400 kilometers east of Alice Springs along the National 4, we arrive at one of the holiest places for Aboriginal people and one of the most visited places in the world, the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Surrounded by the Australian desert, the sacred mountain of Uluru is not a monolith rock but sandstone rocks and sediments composed of feldspars and iron ore which oxidizes. Since 1985, the Australian government has returned the area to the local Aboriginal communities that currently hold the property. 350 m high with a circumference of about 9 km, this mountain has steep walls and smooth. For the respect of Aboriginal traditions, it is forbidden to climb on the massif. A 17 km from Uluru there are the mountains of Kata Tjuta, other sacred place to the Aborigines. The sunrises and sunsets seen in the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park are one of the unforgettable panorama of a journey in Australia
