Where is Santorini

The volcano erupted in 1456 BC and the island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea sank, leaving visible only the edge of the volcanic cone. In the seventies, the American geologist Dorothy Vitaliano, wrote how the events of Atlantis, described by Platone, would fit in Santorini hypothesized that the destruction of Santorini had inspired Plato. But while the stories of Platone we read of an event that occurred in a short time, the archaeological excavations have shown that the Santorini volcano explosion happened in a long time and therefore in conflict with the narratives of Plato. No one has yet solved the mystery of Atlantis, but the Greeks, like to think that the mythical Atlantis is precisely the island of Santorini. A journey not only for tourists who love the sea but also for active tourists who want to discover, on foot or by bicycle, the hidden corners of this amazing island.
